Prestige Boating Academy offers a variety of classroom based courses to add a selection of additional skills to your knowledge as a captain.
Our courses are RYA accredited and delivered by our qualified and friendly instructors.
Some of these qualifications are also required to operate a boat in several European and International countries.
RYA Radar Course
This is a one day course that has become increasingly popular for both safety and navigation on motor boats for both leisure and commercial skippers . Radar is an invaluable aid for navigation and collision avoidance but it is only useful in the hands of a knowledgeable operator.
RYA First Aid Course
This course delivers the essential first aid skills that are needed to ensure injuries can be addressed and managed. Designed for anyone venturing on the water and giving you the skills and confidence to act on minor injuries and prepare for evacuation in the event of a more serious problem.
Diesel Engine Course
This course is designed to help you prevent and solve diesel engine failure. Designed to give the student a comprehensive awareness of the main systems of the marine diesel engine, its operation and the ability to prevent breakdown at sea and rectify defects not requiring workshop support.
RYA Day Skipper Theory
The RYA Day Skipper Theory Classroom Based Course, is a comprehensive program designed to provide our students with a thorough understanding of chartwork, navigation, meteorology and seamanship.
RYA Coastal Skipper Theory
This is a comprehensive RYA accredited course designed to provide a thorough understanding of chartwork, tidal effects, precision navigation techniques, advanced meteorology and seamanship.
