The Course:

Our RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Course is a 5-day intensive designed for more experienced boaters who want to command a motor yacht on longer, more complex passages—day or night.

Training is delivered aboard our Princess F55/65, a luxurious and spacious twin-engine motor yacht, fully equipped for both comfort and professional instruction.

What You’ll Learn:

Following our RYA endorsed syllabus, you’ll master all the skills needed to pass the RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Course including:

Advanced passage planning and pilotage techniques, including night navigation.
Safety and emergency procedures, including man overboard drills.
Tidal calculations, course to steer, and use of electronic navigation systems.
Weather forecasting and interpretation for safe passage-making.
Crew management and leadership under real-world conditions.
Berthing and boat handling in a variety of marinas and conditions.

You’ll take turns acting as skipper on real passages, gaining essential experience and feedback from our qualified RYA instructors.
