Powerboat Level 2 RYA Course
What the course delivers
The RYA powerboat level 2 course is primarily for those using open powered craft such as RIBs and sports boats for those new to powerboating.
It provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.
Course Syllabus
The course is an entry level course that covers:
- Boat types and controls
- Safety
- Basic engine systems
- Boat handling
- Leaving and returning to a dock
- Securing in a marina
- Securing to an buoy
- Anchoring
- Man Overboard technique and practice
- Basic navigation theory
- Basic passage planning
- VHF Marine Radio course and certificate
