RYA Coastal Skipper Theory Course

What the course delivers

Using our training partners, Ardent Training, the RYA Coastal Skipper theory course builds on the RYA Day Skipper theory course to extend your seamanship knowledge.

This is a comprehensive program designed to provide our students with a thorough understanding of chartwork, tidal effects, precision navigation techniques, advanced meteorology and seamanship.

We use both video and text to provide a complete learning experience. The videos are filmed directly on a boat to provide realism. The modules are designed as easily learned packages with regular evaluations.
